We've been making an annual trip to the wilds of Kelowna to ride the
Myra Canyon trestles since
Tav was Aiste-sized, and this weekend we ticked off this years' navigation of highly-flammable wooden structures. This year we were joined by Emily, Dawson, and Eloiuse.... which meant I had to figure out how to tow two run-bikes at the same time. Surprisingly, no one got tangled up in anything... I have no idea how we managed it.

Whist Tav is distracted by the camera, Aiste goes for a stick-grab (unsuccessful). |

This year we've also re-kindled our tradition of spending weekends in the fall riding as fast as possible around in circles in a muddy field. This weekend was our third race of the season, and brought all the wet grass I'd ever wished to ride my bike through to the playing fields of Vernon cadet barracks. It was dank and gloomy, there was slipping-and-sliding, and I won some beer. I rate this one a 10/10 cyclocross experience.

Aiste may not understand yet, but we're going to make her join in as soon as she can ride a bike |

Tav knows what's coming |

A bike race where you have to get off your bike and carry it - like that makes any sense. |
|
Waist-high barriers is a little harsh, even for cyclocross - but Tav seemed to have fun. |

Lina enters the slip-and-slide section. |

This is the correct facial expression for cyclocross. |

Edible medals - one of the best ideas ever. |
